On June 20th, 2024 there was a Strawberry Moon Visible in Strathcona, Vancouver Island B.C.
On June 20th, 2024, the Strawberry Moon rose in the skies over Strathcona, Vancouver Island, B.C., offering a breathtaking view for myself and the couple that had just finished their adventure lake session. Although we thought we were done we couldn't let this amazing opportunity for epic moonlit night photos pass us by. This yearly lunar event, known for its soft, rosy hue, illuminated the night sky. We first noticed it peaking over the mountains and tree line as we were driving back in the truck. We spontaneously pulled over at a lake on the road home, and we were able to capture some enchanting nighttime images. The moon itself wasn't noticeably pink. However, it did appear larger than the normal moon. I feel so lucky to be present for such magical moments on Vancouver Island during unique photography sessions.

Sometimes you have to be spontaneous and pull over in the heat of the moment! Stopping on the long drive home was not part of the original plan, but I am so glad we did. I think it was worth it! Do you?
