Hey, I'm Katie - Your Vancouver Island Adventure Loving Photographer
As I started my journey as a photographer, I noticed the same struggle again and again: most people find it difficult to create a genuine connection and feel comfortable when posing for a camera.
I get it- I've been there myself! Simply being asked to smile at a camera feels awkward and it doesn't result in candid or authentic images.
That's why I've built my approach around connection, comfort and movement. I specialize in photographing couples who may have never stepped in front of a professional camera before. I'll hep you feel relaxed and truly present so your photos reflect who you really are and not just how you look.
Where You'll Find Me
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m a nursing student, a gardener, and an avid outdoor explorer. You’ll usually find me hiking a trail, kayaking around the shores, or just soaking in the wild beauty of Vancouver Island. Although I am based in the Comox Valley, I am not new to traveling! My little car has been to so many beautiful places on the island such as Sooke, Victoria, Tofino, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Strathcona & so much more! I've also done lots of traveling across Canada and in other beautiful countries! Some of my favourites have been: Iceland, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Hawaii (USA).

A Little Love Story of My Own
Fun fact: I married my high school sweetheart in Whistler and we spent our honeymoon exploring mountains and lakes. We had an untraditional wedding with little stress and I wouldn't trade it for the world. That experience shaped the way I show up for my couples today: with calm, care, and a whole lot of excitement for making it your own.

I am based out of the Comox Valley, on Vancouver Island, and let me tell you- I am SO proud to call Vancouver Island my home.
My approach to photography is natural, candid and a bit adventurous! I'll guide you when you need it and also give you room to simply be. Expect to play, explore, and maybe even get a little messy (because sometimes the muddy boots and windblown hair are what make a story unforgettable)!
